Had to dig a bit to find my thread.... Moved last weekend during a huge snowstorm. It sucked, big time. Glad that parts over though. What that does mean is I finally got the rest of the house in a state that I could set up my workbench without guilt.

We moved to an older house (1953) and it's an absolute wonder. I get a spot in the basement for doing my messy construction work and the painting hutch will be in a fourth bedroom upstairs. Here's the basic setup in the corner of the unfinished part of the basement.

The wall closets to the right contain all the boxes and large tubs of bits and terrain. It's all pretty handy - especially with a nice roller chair. The cabinet on the left will become my airbrush station (as before) and I'll be adding a pegboard backing above the desk for tools and I'll be trying to build a way to store all the plasticard channel, strips and tubes to make them easier to see and get to.

Here's a shot of the work bench. As I get more settled in and a bit more time, the lighting will get better as well. Eventually there will be power strips up each side of the desk and long gooseneck lamps to free up more work surface.

Not sure how much work will actually get done though. Right around the corner (and I don't mean down the block - I mean right around the next corner of my basement) is Club D.O.A. Hole. Heheheheh.

An absolutely 1950's, vintage basement wet bar. We're looking around for an actual glass-doored beverage fridge and a keg fridge (like the Kegerator) to round it out. The neon under the bar is actually red and not pink as the pictures seem. We have some neon bar signs and a few more decorations at the other house but it's pretty much set up. This should be fun for the 40K days and Apocalypse battles in the basement.

I did leave one box of supplies I need at the storage place, I'll be picking it up this week. Soooo, this does mean the bommer is back in production! Yay!!!

one way i did for my lighting at my painting station was rather creative use of a shower bar and shop lights. I put daytime bulbs in a few shop lamps which clamp on the shower bar, and produce a great amou8nt of ight for my painting area and it was fairly inexpensive to setup. Only think I need now is a magnifier with lights on a boom arm so that i can move it around, and i will be set for lighting in my painting area.

Nice to be back in the Big Meks chair. Made the big shootas for the side gunners tonight. I know they're a little long and "twin linked" but I thought they'd look cooler like that. Here's the barrels, then glued in place in the fuselage and a show with the wings attached.

I never planned on showing the orks behind the guns - too much work. I'll be building doors that will somewhat cover the internals anyway. Now that I have the side guns done I'll be starting the skinning process. I'm still working on getting settled in the new house so time is a bit sparse yet. I'll pick at it here and there.

Actually the hull is assembled and masked for priming here in a few minutes when I finish firing back some tamales. Then tonight the cats second least favorite device comes out - the airbrush, and a whole lot of things get paint applied.

Looks good and I will continue to see how much your Mastermind can add to the details on your flying Ork gun platform. BA83

    Thanks guys!

I need your help folks. This is a repost from a thread I made in the Oubliette and since I don't think that is going to get nearly as much traffic as this thread I'm duping it here...

OK, this will be entered in to the annals of cool/smart/silly/stupid social media ploys but it does mean an extra afternoon off for me if I win!

The short: If I get the most likes on Facebook for the company I work at, I win an afternoon of my choice off. Simple as that. Go here, like them, and tell them Randy sent ya!

    http://www.facebook.com/ThelenAdvertising

The long: I'm competing against a cat. Not any cat mind you, but my own cat (and the other employees). In an attempt to raise our likes, one of the owners - who is also my wife - has been using her other Facebook page for our cat Punchy, to garner more likes. Punchy has added 12 likes to our company page in two days. Becky (my wife) has thrown the gauntlet down and decided to pit the employees against Punchy.

To win the afternoon off the employee must meet two criteria. 1. Have the most new Likes brought to the site with "Randy Sent me" (or whoever the employee is) and 2. Brought more Likes than Punchy. The deadline is Monday morning so we have the entire weekend to try and best that darn sneaky cat.

The company: We're a small advertising agency in central Minnesota. A bunch of hard working but easy going folks who love to create and help people make the most of their company. We do just about anything: from writing copy to billboards to websites to full on multiple angle ad campaigns. Full service and all that.

Thanks ahead of time for anyone who helps out!

Remember - tell'em Randy sent ya or it won't count for me!

    THANKS!
