    Default German Painting Help

    Hello,

I just bought the late war German Panzergrenadier Platoon. Its now already for painting but I am not quite sure on the paint scheme. Can anyone assist with links to good guides? I'm going for late war wehrmact, non-SS.

    Thanks for the help.

Flames of War puts out a great booklet called "The Colors of War." It has virtually EVERYTHING you need to know about painting Germans in FOW.

Quick--It was still standard German Field Grey. By the period just before the end of the war, many soldiers were wearing odds and ends they'd foraged. Some had SS style camo skocks, (which was ok up until they came in contact with an actual SS unit!). Many had foraged different style boots etc. HOWEVER---the basic colour was still the same. If you Google ----German Field Grey---you'll get loads off info. There are a large number of paints produced for this but most of them are enamels. Vallejo do produce one--Vallejo Model Colour German Field Grey 70.830.102, never used it so can't give 1st hand info. Idon't know of any specific acrylic paint that is accurate. There is a new colour coming out next month from Army Painter in ther Warpaint series which may be ok but I haven't seen it myself so can't commit to that.

    Good luck
