Well, sure, but in my view, being placed in Reserve doesn't take away your ability to combat squad ever. You just have to wait until you arrive from Reserve.

Yes indeed embarking a unit in reserve does limit your tactical choices, but thats the way it is (unless that unit is in a drop pod).
It really isn't that bad.
