Default Cadian 66th - airborne guard

Hi there everyone, bit of background for the log - main inspiration is from the Australian Defence Force (proud aussie here with aspirations in the air force), particularly on more recent deployments. More specifically, 3rd batallion of the RAR, the airborne one. As such I mainly wanted lightweight, specialised gear , and lots of it.

This army's been in progress for about a year now, but it's only recently that I've acquired what I'd call a decent level of skill on the painting front.

So without further procrastinating, here's some WiP pictures. Most of what you see below has been painted by now:

Those are my missile teams which I quite like when it comes to the posing and the conversions on the launchers themselves. They have no heads there as I was waiting for some respirators before I could finish them, painted pics will come soon though.

I'll put up pictures of the regular infantry later on.

That's all I have time to post but I'll be sure to put up more later, my army consists of more than the 3 or so guys I just showed you. Enjoy

Wow that's awesome! Where did you get the bit for the end of the missile launcher?

Thanks very much for the comments

Beef Nuggets: The backpacks weren't converted, they're forgeworld grav chutes. I find they work very well on Cadians with a few slight adjustments

Datadep: It's part of the lascannon barrel, the bit in the middle.

Terricon: They've been painted, but the only photos I have of them post-paint are in group shots with some infantry which I was to show WiP first

A few mouldlines here and there at the time, but don't worry I always go back over them before painting.

And I'll leave it with some of the command squad:

I particularly like how that officer turned out

Those poses look great. I always love to see new ways of mixing it up with heavy weapons teams.

As for the Elysian gravchutes...good call on using them, they look good on Cadians. For my Vets, I used gravchutes and put pouches and grenades on their shoulder pads to make them look a bit beefier.

I really like the poses that you created. I will be keeping an eye on your army to see how they turn out.
