Space Marine Honor Guard:

You know, I'm just posting this to ask for advise actually.

Can anyone make some recommendations for my Blood Raven's honor guard? I don't want Calgar's folks, or just a plain Jane command squad. Can anyone think of what box sets I'd need to do some awesome conversions? Just curious.

Its so much easier to make Chosen for my Word Bearers :P

I was looking at the Masters of _ on the GW site.
Under SM HQ choices, there's four and you can just about excuse them into an honour guard.
Although your Champion will need to take a Thunder Hammer.

The metal 4th ed Veterans boxes come to mind, although you'd end up replacing quite a number of arms with power-weapons or just invoking counts-as.

Command Squad + bitz order Grey Knight Force Weapons blister also works well.

Agreed, the 4th ed., veterans are who I have used for my non-ultramarines honor guard, the guy with the big power axe is pretty good.

Black Templar stuff works really well as you can pass the symbol off as veteran staus if you don't want to do too much green stuffing. (although the above green stuffing is great!)
