The rules aren't half bad. Kinda wired having to get ahold of a Handful of D10's for playing a wargame. But rule wise I think it's one of the better skirmish games right now.

The models are also realy fun to paint, can be a pain to put together thow.
    =S
    Warhammer 40k = Emperor's Children(CSM) and Orks.
Brush Fire: Historia Rodentia= Aquitar, Vandalands, and Ribenguo.

Sad. I've tried, but I can't get into historical gaming, myself.

    Unless it's alternate history.

Firestorm armada is tempting, it just looks so plain on the table, maybe i havent seen the right battle reports just yet. I do love me some capital ships though, and firestorm reminds me of that "day of sagitarius" game from "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" anime, and that episode was a ton of fun.

Do they have metal or plastic figs?

Firestorm armada & I think all of spartan games other games use resin models, some have metal accessories. However with improvements in their production they seem to be moving towards total resin models.
