GW has a list of resources you can download

    Ebay is always an option

Warp Rift fan magazine is a good source of ideas and reading

You can always do the torrent thing

Somewhere on this forum is a link to the latest FAQ as well

Waves of torpedos scream past a thin screen of escort fighters, the defence turrets can't stop them they hit your cruiser, it starts a fire, your ship is badly damaged, you fire your thrusters and ram your ship into a nearby enemy cruiser damaging both vessels your reactor goes critical vapourising your cruiser, the cruiser you rammed and the shock wave smashes into the enemy flag ship just as it seems about to bring it's lances to bear on your unprotected transports.

Thats the typical cinemeatic stuff that comes out of a Battle Fleet Gothic game. Once you have a few games under your belt it's reasonably simple and as soon as you give your ships names the battles take on a epic movie like quality.

I've really enjoyed it and now i'm more confident with the rules the various senarios keep the game different.

It's cheap to get a fleet together and much fun can be had.

One game I pushed my two battle barges through an intervening asteroid field if they'd failed their roles to navigate it it would have cause horrific damage to them they both made their rolls powered into the middle of the Chaos fleet that felt itself safe on the other side and tore it to peices with close range broadsides........it's stuff like that that floats my boat and why i love the game.

    cheers

A word of advice for everyone who wants to try BFG: try not to go overboard on fleet size. Large fleets have a tendency to create short, bloody, boring games. A medium size game with plenty of terrain creates cat and mouse maneuvering games where Cruisers chase each other around planets and through asteroid fields trying to protect themselves as they jockey for position to deliver a devastating broadside as Escorts weave back and forth trying to pick each other off and turn the tide in favor of their command ship. I recommend ~1500 for a full size 8x4 table.

I'd try and pick up the starter set. Four cruisers per side is enough to get some really good games in. I've played quite a few great games and haven't bought anything other than the starter.
