Superhero Comics 101

I'm sceptical.

Currently, she's an incredibly popular character because she's wonderfully complex. Massively intelligent, yet horribly abused by Her Puddin', and from what I see on the same sort of redemption arc as Deadpool attempted when he tried to be a hero.

But the film? My fear is the film is going to reduce her to boobs and hotpants. DC may then decide that because she's best known from the film, and in the film she's boobs and hotpants, then boobs and hotpants she shall be forever more.

I mean, these are the people that greenlit that Catwoman...

Oh I think the film will probably do just that, but currently her comic is excellent and people still rememer the Batman Animated Series HQ so I don't think it will hurt her popularity, people will just be very grumpy they screwed her up.

Considering she was a character invented for a kids TV show (though that doesn't do justice to the actual quality of that show, which was frankly superb) I'd hate to see her return to the screen damage the character.

It helps that her comic is hugely popular, usually being in DCs top 5 best selling comics and the top 10-20 comics in general, month by month, depending how many high profile issue ones or Marvel Star Wars titles are out that month lol.

It is DC though....they're fond of idiotic behaviour (Joker Leto, for instance. Bat Affleck, for another. What they did to their successful Bat Woman comic....)

Meh... Red Lantern Kitteh feels so sad. People are such *******s. That kind of treatment of strays is why I rescued the ones I did.

Hope RLK tore those jerks who bagged it a new one.

Have heard mixed things, and never read the books. I think I'll give it a whirl.
