General update:

This week has been all about getting existing projects, that have already been started, finished. One prefect example is the purity seals for the achievements system. We have also been putting the final touches on the missions for all our events. Playtesting has been a blast, but these guys are just about ready to send off to the printers. Prize support is coming in everyday, infact there wasn't a day this week that the UPS guy didn't have a nice little present for me, not to mention the standard mail guy. All in all we are really looking forward to giving away thousands and thousands of dollars worth of goodies and swag away!

Focus on: The Invitational Register

Saturday: 8:30 - 7:30 (4 rounds)
Sunday: 8:00 - 3:30 (3 rounds)

500+ players, 32 Qualifier locations, 7 states. Only the best need apply. This is our headline tournament at Feast of Blades and is the embodiment of the "honor your chapter," slogan. We selected the top two players from each qualifier RTT and invited them to come and represent their chapter (FLGS) in a win/loss tournament over two days.

Missions:
Day one -
Round 1: This will be a battle point mission with Primary, Secondary, Tertiary, and Modifiers (PST). Why Battle points in a Win/Loss tournament? Well, it helps us in seeding the future missions, it, and a short algorithm, is the number we use to determine placement within each win/loss record. In all honesty, you can lose this round horribly and still win "Tournament Champion." Pretty cool.
Round 2-4: These missions will all be traditional Win/Loss with P,S,T and Victory Points as the final tie-breaker. The way we determine who win is by asking the following: Did you win Primary? Yes, you win. No? go to secondary. Did you win Secondary? Yes, you win. No? Go to tertiary... and so on. Basically, if you win Primary and lose secondary or tertiary (or both) you still win the game. The question is, do you risk it all and try to seize primary, or do you hold back and play conservativly to be able to go for secondary if it comes to that? The answer is something only each player will make on their own. As a side note, it is important to capture as many objectives as possible because each one adds to your standings within your win/loss bracket.

Day two-
We will break you into 8, 8-man brackets where you will play another 3 win/loss rounds. You will then be paired as winner vs winner and so forth. The winner of each bracket will go 3-0 on day two.

How do we determine winners?
The winner of bracket 1 (3-0 bracket) will be crowned "Tournament Chamption," and will have an overall record of 6-0, this individual will recieve the honor of having their name placed on the Feast of Blades banner as well as a beautiful trophy and swag. Each winner of the other brackets (2-8) will be crowned "Tournament Ace," and will receive trophies and swag. Yes, this means you can lose your seeding round game and all of your day one games and go on to win the 0-3 bracket and be crowned "tournament ace," with an overall record of 3-4... Not bad.

Achievments!
We have been hard at work developing a Xbox Live 'achievements,' system. While playing your games in the 40K Invitational you will have the ability to win prizes and swag based on doing things during your game. For Example, if you have one unit earn 5 kill points (during one game) in close combat alone then you will win the "Brass Knuckles," achievment and we will give you a high quality hand made purity seal and maybe some other swag. There is no reason why you should leave Feast of Blades empty handed!

Qual by fire:
Friday: 6:30pm - ??:??am
So, you just missed the invitational by one point? Or what if there wasn't a qualifier location near you. Well, this is your last chance to qualify for the invitational. We will be holding one last Qualifier RTT Friday night (6:30pm-??:??). We will fill all drop/no show slots with the winners from this event, we are also holding one slot open just incase we don't have no shows. This event is free to anyone who purchases another event ticket.

FOCUS ON: Feats of Strength.

Feats of Strength:
Why should you have to be best overall to recieve swag? At Feast of Blades we have designed a system based of the Xbox achievments system. The way it works is simple, if you complete one of these 'feats of strength,' during a game you tell us and we verify it (A lot of honor system stuff here). If you did the feat we give you a hand crafted purity seal to pin on your clothes/army bags/ eyebrows...etc. Without further ado, here are the Feats of Strength!

Harbinger of Death:
Cause 3 or more enemy units to fail morale checks in one game. Checks for combat resolution do not count.
Martyr:
Suffer 100% casualties in at least three games in a single tournament or other event.
Bloodied, but unbowed:
Suffer at least 75% casualties, and score at least a minor victory (or win, if margins are not used)
Where did everybody go?
Have only one unit remaining at the end of the game. Pinned or Broken units count as destroyed, but "gone to ground" units do not.
Untouchable:
Finish a game with all units at or above half strength
Better Lucky than Good:
Benefit from good luck by succeeding on a low probability move that results in a decisive advantage. (subjective) Opponant reports details, judged by Tourny staff.
Danger Close:
Pin, Break, or Destroy a freindly unit using an inaccurate templae or blast weapon. Immoblized or weapon destroyed results on freindly vehicles count for this.
The Cheese Stands Alone:
Win a close combat in which you have only one model remaining after combat resolution.
Brass Knuckles:
Have a single unit claim 5 or more kill points in a single game from close combat alone.
Sure Shot:
Have a single unit claim 5 or more kill points in a single game from shooting alone.
Strategic Genius:
Complete all mission objectives in four(4) games in a single event.
God of War:
Complete all mission objectives in every game of a single event. (min six(6) games played to qualify)

Well, I hope everyone is looking forward to coming to Feast of Blades. There is only one month left to register, so get on it!
