Sanguinary priest...

I take a single elite choice of Sanguinary priest consisting of three priests. Do the three priests have to operate as a single unit or can I split them up and assign each one to another unit?

I suggest reading their rules again. Here's a hint, they are ICs.

Yes they can all be separated from there unit and join another because they are independent characters just like an hq.

You can even equip them different:
one with a jump pack
one with Terminator armour
one with a bike
