Question 2000 Deep Striking Tomb Spyders & Necrons

2000 Necron List (Actually 1994 points)

    1. Deep Strike Three (3) Tomb Spyders (w/ Gloom Prism) and unit near enemy unit infested w/ Bloodswarm Nanoscarabs.
    a. Harbinger of Despair (Abyssal Staff) w/ Veil of Darkness (Royal Court 1)
    b. Necron Lord w/ Mindshackle Scarabs

    2. Deep Strike Nemesor Zandrekh’s unit within 6” of enemy infested w/ Bloodswarm Nanoscrabs from Imhotek
    a. Harbinger of Despair (Abyssal Staff) w/ Veil of Darkness (Royal Court 2)
    i. Harbinger of the Storm (Voltaic Staff) w/ Lightning Storm (Royal Court 1)
    ii. 14 Flayed Ones

    3. Deep Strike Vargard Obyron’s unit within 6” of Nemesor Zandrekh’s unit
    a. Harbinger of the Storm (Voltaic Staff) w/ Lightning Storm (Royal Court 2)
    i. Necron Lord (Warscythe & Mindshackle Scarabs) w/ Resurrection Orb
    ii. 15 Flayed Ones

    4. Imotekh the Stormlord’s unit picks off enemy armor w/ Eldritch Lances
    a. Harbinger of Destruction (Eldritch Lance) w/ Solar Pulse (Royal Court 1)
    b. Harbinger of Destruction (Eldritch Lance) (Royal Court 1)
    c. Harbinger of Eternity (AeonStave) w/ Chronometron (Royal Court 1)

    5. Two 5 man units of Warriors in Ghost Arks work their way up the board under Night Fighting

The idea of this build is to be in your face with numbers of reanimating models with lots of attacks.
The Mindshackle Scarab Lords w/ Warscythes in theory help to neutralize powerful IC’s, by killing their own units/themselves.
Tomb Spyders w/ Gloom Prism help neutralize psychic threats. Being MC’s, they attack any AV 12 or better vehicles; or target
Each Flayed One unit has 64 attacks base on the charge, not including independent characters. That’s 128 attacks between the two Flayed Ones’ units. Against your average Space Marine unit, that’s 28 hits on average and 9-10 failed 3+ Armor Saves per Flayed One Squad. Against your average Terminator unit, that’s 28 hits on average and 4-5 failed 2+ Armor Saves per Flayed One Squad.
Ideal for multi charging units in Assault, or tar-pitting strong melee units.

Harbinger’s of the Storm can shoot enemy armor with their Voltaic Staff’s after they initially Deep Strike.
Imhotek’s Lightning Bolt attacks should help cause some nuisance damage. The Harbinger of Eternity’s Chronometron can help Imhotek continue his Night Fighting and his lightning bolts. The other attached 2 Cryptek’s and Imhotek can either sit in cover and pop their Eldritch Lightning shots at enemy armor or buildings.
The Warriors in their Ghost Arks should be allowed to slowly move up to their objectives, or lend fire support against enemy enemy troops.

Of course this is all under ideal circumstances, (and hoping I'm not screwing something up in interpretation of rules), but it is the safest Deep Strike scenario utilizing the syngergy of three Deep-Striking units. My typical opponents play Space Wolves, Chaos, Eldar, and Dark Eldar. My main concern being Dark Eldar, but hopefully their reanimation protocols and res. Orbs of the Nemesor and the Lord help beef it up.

Any thoughts, suggestions, etc… are welcome. Thanks.

Royal court members can only be attached to Warriors, Immortals, Lychguard, and Deathmarks. If they are not attached to a unit they then comprise their own unit consisting of Crypteks and Necron Lords.

You cannot have anything attached to the spyders. Same with Flayed Ones. Though, you can attach Vargard to Flayed ones as he is an IC. Would have to read the rule for bloodswarm scarabs again, but I assume you could use his ability to bring them closer.

So, interesting idea, but it will only work with one unit of Vargard and however many Flayed ones you want to put in it (up to 20).

Thanks for the heads up. Knew it was too good to be true.

Have to do some Major tweaking obviously. Want to Deep Strike 3 Tomb Spyders, and the only way it looks possible is to attach him Vargard Obyron.

Wanted to find some way to provide some extra survivability to the Flayed Ones squads.

    Back to the drawing table.

Your numbers are off. 15 Flayed ones do have 60 attacks if they assault. That's 30 hits and 15 Wounds with roughly 5 dead Space marines not 9 or 10.
Against Terminators, this drops to roughly 2.5 dead.

And that is provided they do not kill some of your guys first. Being Ini 4 and all...
