Fear to Tread

I don't know if this is news or how long this has been up on the site but I've just spotted the blurb for the Blood Angel Horus Heresy book by James Swallow on the Black Library site. It seems to suggest the the black rage & or red thirst existed before Sanguinius' death. The fluff I've seen so far always indicated that these were a side effect of his death and more recently the events on Signus prime.

Another small shift of established fluff in the series, now I'm even more eager to read the book!

as i have become to understand it, the Blood Angels became afflicted by the black rage when they saw thier leader fall on signus prime

and the Red Thirst was prolly and an after effect of the marines that got killed by Ka'Bandha after he broke Sanguinuis legs since the psychic backlash from does marine cast Sanguinius into unconsciousness

but both of these curses prolly got unlocked within his bloodline after he got killed by Warmaster Horus.

thats what i think atleast, hope to get some clarity over it all when the books gets released

Hi Lyzer, yes that has always been my understanding of it as well. However the blurb for Fear to Tread says that they are hiding a secret and that Horus tricks them into going to Signus in the hope that they will find salvation there. Very interested to see what comes of it.
