Interesting lol, we successfully ran a 40, WFB & Infinity tournament last year with no trade stands, demo/participation games etc, a month or so after the Legionary '11 yes. It was discussed that we might do it again this year in July, but no one has volunteered to head it up at this point, so I can't imagine they'll be one in the first half of the year, maybe in the second half, I don't know.

If that makes you think of us as 'rivals' thats entirely you prerogative.

Not that I normally like to drag up the dead and buried, BUT, this is with good reason.

The guys at Exmouth Imperials went some way to addressing some of the issues with the pack, and consequently I manned up and went along last weekend, because I do want to support my local show. As it turned out, none of the 'nightmare' scenario's I had in my head cropped up and everyone just used a bit of common sense, always nice, and something which is often lacking in the tournament crowd it has to be said, especially if theres an advantage to be gained.

Was there still room for improvement? Yes. A bit more LOS blocking terrain to trump armies like my own, and of course I think given the time to do it, an improved pack. The addition of some standard missions, or at least some standard missions over the more odd ball ones (Mission 1 especially and Mission 3 to a certain extent) would only have made the event better and would have drawn more competitors then the 8 or 10 players which turned up. By comparison WFB drew something like 30 players. I do remain convinced the pack/missions put people off.

However, the organisers did a damn fine job keeping it all running smoothly, and in that respect as good if not better then any previous Legionary. Nice one chaps, make Legionary MMXIII even better!
