I like 35 point games as they're over quicker and give the chance of getting in another game. My son prefers 50 points as we get more models on the table.
He and I actually set up and played a 150 point Unbound game, it was crazy. He played Menoth and I played Trollbloods. Took us forever. Considering a 50 point game usually takes us more than two hours you can imagine how long it took for 150!

I highly suggest putting in at least half a dozen battlebox-sized games to start and get the rules under your belt. After than, the most common in my meta are 35 and 50, depending on time available and skill/experience of opponent. I'd much rather play a smaller game with an inexperienced opponent for time's sake.
