    Default Ideas wanted: skull helmet

As some of you may know from my Disqus comments on the news threads, I'm not exactly fond of metal or Finecast. So when I found the mace on the Dark Angels frame, I thought to myself "A-ha! Perfect crozius arcanum," cut off the winged sword and replaced it with the winged skull, and now I've got myself the makings of a plastic Chaplain. I still need a skull helmet, though - any suggestions as to in which kits I might find a suitably large skull?

Have you considered doing a bare head instead?

There are plenty of appropriate plastic heads around.

I took a regular Marine helmet, drilled the face out, and popped a skull bit into the hollow shell. You've gotta drill slow or you risk cracking it open, but it's still pretty simple.

It's a bit... distended, but thanks for your input.

I am so definitely giving that a go. I even have a spare Chaos vehicle frame to take the same skull from!

    Thanks for the link!

That middle one is a good fallback possibility for when I horribly fail at the greenstuffing. Ta!

It's helmets all the way for my Chapter. Even the Scouts have Cadian heads. Let other, stupider Chapters show their bare heads to the enemy's gunsights.

I've been trying this already, but the helmet is a bit too small for my sausage fingers to hold steady while precision drilling.
