I just got an airbrush for xmas and I've found Vallejo Model Air Grey Primer to be perfect for the job, I use a 5:2 ratio of primer to thinner (water w/ flow aid, in my case).
Thank you for voxing the Church of Khorne, would you like to donate a skull to the Skull Throne today?
I agree, vallejo does a range of airbrush primers which come in a variety of colours. I admit I don't thin mine though. eBay is your friend and you can find plenty of vallejo products on there.

I have been using Floquil gray primer for many many years through my Paasche H1 Airbrush. It is a great primer that dries real tight. You buy it in the Model RR paint section. I thin it at about 40%.
