    any ideas for cool and CHEAP terrain? as a student i dont have a lot of space so bonus points for ideas that can save space

    Well, way back when we used books as hills and shoe-boxes as buildings. Their are plans online that show you how to make a ruin out of cardboard/cereal boxes and tape/glue (like the boxes your models came in). A shoe can be used as impassable terrain. 2 belts laid side by side can show the boundaries of a road or a river.
    (EDIT) Oh...you also said cool.
    Terragenesis is a good starting point, but that assumes you have the space to set up a workbench and the money to get the start-up supplies.

    Cardboard, elmer's glue, cheap filler (you can get this in the paint dept of any home improvement store), and sand. Thats about all u need to make decent looking terrain.

    Dont forget the Dollar Tree. You can get a lot of cool stuff there cheap.
