    Default demons

Does anyone have a tried and tested demons list that can at least hold its own? I am not expecting a miracle but something that can hold its own would be great

Well, there is the fatecrusher list. The only problem it has is that fateweaver is way to pick out at a distance (but still pretty darn hard to kill).

    Yes! Best armylist ever!

Lol no in all seriousness daemons have a few builds which can be successful at almost any points level.

    1) Fatecrusher: This is the infamous daemon build, the basics of this build revolves around taking 8-12 bloodcrushers and 2-3 daemon princes along with fateweaver in your primary wave. The entire army moves as a unit so fateweaver's bubble of "ha-ha you can't kill me" gets spread to your entire army.

Pros: Unkillable. Seriously. You'll be cutting opponent's firepower into about (1/9) of what it usually is with re-rollable 3+'s
Cons: SLOW! So so slow but unless you're playing against Mech-dar you should be able to corral your opponent into a corner.

    2) Cavalry Daemons: This one is really fun. Essentially, this list revolves around 18 fiends in the elite slots and three units of either seekers or hounds. This allows your army to deep strike in relative safety (away from the opponent's army) and have the speed to pick charges wherever it wants. Make sure to support the fast elements with slow-moving hard-hitting units (like wingless princes and bloodletters).

Pros: Nothing escapes you, nothing. Be prepared for turn 2 charges 100% of the time.
Cons: This style is MUCH more fragile than the fatecrusher build and relies on doing damage before your opponent can stop you (this is very similar to playing dark eldar). Fateweaver helps with this in high points games in which you can afford him.

    3) Tally List: This list revolves around abusing Epidemius' special rule. The entire army should be nurgle; this means: epidemius and a great unclean one in the HQs, LOTS of plaguebearers and nurglings, and certainly 3x nurgle daemon princes. Use the princes and the great unclean one to get your tally count up and watch your plaguebearers slowly turn into killing machines!

Pros: Plaguebearers wounding on 2+, with 3+ FnP and power weapons......seriously it's OP.
Cons: Relies on killing stuff early to make troops great, low model-count armies can counter you pretty well (terminator armies, for example). Fateweaver works pretty damn well in this list too for increased survivability.

    Hope that helped!
