for the greater good - olberon goes tau

intro
As some of you might know i sold my old space wolves army for a decent price and a really good commission. The person who bought my my army has well over 20k (!) of unpainted space wolves which he wants to have painted in the same colors as my army and guess who paints them. Yup........ me!!!!

The goal
My personal goal for this year will be a high quality Tau farsight enclave of at least 2000 points. Starting off with a small force of 750 points i plan on expanding the army bit by bit painting just a few models at a time and not whole units, thus allowing for a high quality for even the lowest drone.

The theme
skimming through the supplement of the farsight enclave and liking the fluff the plan was made to start a farsight enclave. the whole renegade thing is really appealing to me, also the red with greys is a thing i really love.

The list
The start list will be 750 points and keeping it economic i planned on buying as few boxes as possible but having a halfway decent army. till now i just bought 4 boxes and 1 blister!

* Fire Warrior Team (6x) - pulse rifle, Photon grenades

* Pathfinder Team (5x) - 4x Pulse carbine with Markerlight, 1x rail rifle

The bases
always a problem with me. cant really decide which to use so after a few test bases i went for the industrial look. and if i paint them in a light color it will look pretty nice..... i hope

this is the result of an hours work. 6 bases for my first Fire Warrior team. Just a few more to go

The test model
i went for a drone as test model. since i only need 4 in my current list a had a few to spare. But me being me i directly went for a small conversion and build my own shield drones. Tutorial will follow soon.

Been rather busy finishing my Storm Eagle commission for the past couple of days so no painting on my personal army. Yesterday i decided to take a break form the commission and start a test mini for this army. so here is my first fire warrior, he still is a work in progress since i still need to highlight the black and do his arms

Also i couldnt sleep last night so i finished my drones for the riptide. i dont like the models -they look like flying shoeboxes to me!- but since i didnt take the time to look at a few conversions ill leave them for now as they came.

As you can see a pretty basic warrior not much happening to these guys, altough im planning on getting a bit more action in the group. Loving my bases since my wife decided to build some for me :P
