havent playd much with executioners or black guard yet, but i always have at least one unit of corsairs and spearmen. both rock. i usually have one corsair unit with the frenzy banner, and sometimes they get an assassin too (not equipped with anything maybe the 5+ ward save and a second hand weapon). this unit is really fun to play
