DKOK Platoon standard?

in the DKoK rule book under the normal platoon squad choices it says that "One Guardsman may carry a Platoon Standard for15 points," so can every squad in a platoon get one?

While I suspect that may just be a case of bad copypasta on the part of whoever typed up the Siege Regiment list, if you take it at face value, it does in fact allow you to give every infantry squad in a platoon a standard.

I wouldn't suggest it, though. Your 15pts are probably spent better elsewhere.

Upon reading that codex, then yes. The regular infantry squads can each take as standard as it is listed as a wargear option.

I think this is a classic case of Rules as Written vs Rules as Intended.
I'm with the typo argument here, it seems odd that EVERY. squad carries a platoon standard, doesn't make Platoon Standard particularly special. If every squad gets one then surely it's a Squad Standard!

When in doubt on these things I think you have to go to:
a) relevant source material ( IG codex)
b) precedent (IG codex)
c) fluff (my favourite!)

I feel all 3 point to only the Platoon Command being allowed to carry the Platoon Standard.

As for " CC oriented DKOK army here you come" - they already get Iron Discipline, Die hard, and Hardened. Fighters! This makes them the CC IG Army, they are seige and trench warfare specialists, not shock troops! Don't try to twist them into some unintended uberArmy just because of a typo. To me, this is the worst form of the game!

Aww no uber CC army

trust me I will not use this in real competitive games, its only for the fun ones where you make sure your opposition knows whats going on.
