The author took a piece of fanfic she posted on a Twilight site, and turned it into a novel that encouraged Time magazine to laud her as one of the 100 most influential people in the world?
For Twilight fanfic?
And we thought there was a ridiculous sub-current of feminine submission in Twilight...yeesh.

Apparently some of it is quite fruity - maybe they are appealing to the dire sexy-romance novel market by disguising under the guise of fantasy.

It's really an effed up bdsm fantasy (not the sword&sorcery definition of the word) about a virginal lady who gets caught up with a completely mentally effed up sexual sadist rich guy.
Think 9 1/2 Weeks, only...worse.
It's been dubbed "mommy porn" for the rate in which the majority of the target audience (30+ year old women) are eating this up. It's sold over 10 million copies.
Think about that.
BDSM fanfic off a Twilight website has sold over 10 million books, at a pace that has eclipsed the Harry Potter series.
On one hand--good for the author.
On the other hand---really??? Fanfiction makes you one of Time's 100 Most Influential People?

I know many people on tumblr who say that 14 year olds can right better porn.
