Wasn't there a fluff rumor for the new Edition that said the SM discover that the Emperor was "looking for a race that could withstand the effects of chaos because said race would be the key to the salvation of the universe and humanity"? Furthermore that the SM discover the race the emperor was looking for was the Tau.

Thats just a rumor I read somewhere...take with huge grains of salt. But it does make sense given Kritoris's hint and the ally chart.

That would make sense, given how any corrupted Tau needs an Etheral to tell them stop, and they stop.

Also how long it will even take to corrupt. Kais only gets corrupted due to all the expectations, and he enjoys killing far too much.

I figured this would happen when they started talking about using the GK to wipe out other chapters. The GK don't have a known primarch (I don't think geneseed was kept on Terra before the reform but I may be wrong) and, it seems, don't see themselves as brother marines. Their whole origin is Space Marines weren't good enough and are just as bad as every other filthy stink race in the galaxy. Also, they mind wipe or kill everyone that could be a problem later. No one fully trusts the Inquisition or their secret chamber militant and they certainly don't trust anyone else.
