This thread is talking about 2 different sites with very similar initials.

BoK=Blood of Kittens. Quite often full of crap but always has something interesting to say(whether based in reality or not) in order to keep site traffic up. He is a spinmaster and agitator who always thumps his chest when he gets something right but conveniently forgets about all the things he gets wrong.

BoW=Beasts of War. Quite often right on the money and rarely says anything they're not pretty positive about. Seem to have some support from inside GW that gets them their scoops shortly before GW can officially announce anything.

Also Blood Angels are not fistbumping Necrons.
    Aww...

    I really liked that idea.

This is all 100% bollocks. The Imperium is not fractured, the Marines are not splitting from the High Lords of Terra, heresy and xenophobia are the same as ever, chapters are not taking actions gainst the best wishes of the Imperium.

A discovery of galactic importance has not happened.

The Emperor did not entrust Guilliman with the protection of a xenos race that was immune to Chaos. The Ultramarines are not protecting the Tau.

But vanilla Space Marines are the only other army besides the Craftworlders with whom the fishheads can be battle brothers, so in that sense he was correct. But Calgar doesn't took upon any Ethereal or Shas'O as a little brother to protect though. That image was rubbish.

Also for the record, the Necron-Blood Angel "bro-fist" thing wasn't from the rulebook or BoK, but from the existing Blood Angels codex.

The Necron/BA bro-fist picture is awesome. I think it was a good idea to keep it because it has been at the top of many BOLS posts regarding allies rumors in 6th edition.

So in all this, if that isn't true then is there any fluff behind why Space Marines are "brothers in arms" with the Tau?

There's plenty of fluff in the past that depicts codex-adherent chapters working with the Tau for mutual gain, and the Ultramarines admiring their battle prowess.

Remember the 'brothers in arms' ruling doesn't mean they're buddy-buddy with the Tau...it means that when they do work together, that temporary allegiance comes easily because they see eye-to-eye in many regards.

Thank god that this isn't true, I'd have cried for days. Inconsolable.
