Apparently a medical technician in South Africa (where rape is epidemic) came up with this. My first thought was, "Oh ... HELL YES!" Then I got to thinking ... rapists are disgusting, worthless little jackholes to begin with. I'd be concerned this (as is) would increase the incident of homicide. So ... I'd have this injecting poison too - something fast acting that at least paralyzes the @#$! so the woman can get away.

Hm nice idea, I'll stick with causing grievous bodily harm to anyone who attempts it myself. Not that practicaly really, I mean you'd have to 'wear' it all the time as rapists tend not to schedule things in advance.

In all fairness, though, this wasn't made to market in the west. The creator of it works in Africa, where rape and the threat of rape is a daily occurrence.

I remember a while back that a South African car manfactuer came up with anti-car jacking device that basically consisted of a flamethrower attached to the underside of your car. I think South Africa should probably focus more on the causes of such crimes. Thay could start by having people in government who actually understand causes of things like poverty and AIDS and convincing the public that having sex with virgins will not cure AIDS, nor will child sacrifice. Africa is all kinds of f@£%ed up.

The biggest issue in Africa is the lack of contraception, while ever people keeping having ten or fifteen kids they can't feed poverty is going to exist, and all the other problems that follow poverty will be magnified...
