I don't own any ogryn models Bosco, I have bought a heap of black orc fantasy models to use as my big mutants. The were intended to double as ogryns if necessary however they are no where near the same size. Plus I'm not sure how I'd do the shields.

Have you ever given consideration to taking a Mutant Overlord Devotion renegade detachment, and combining it with a regular Astra Militarum ally? It would allow you access to units unavailable to Renegades, such as Primaris Psykers, Masters of Ordnance, and Vendettas. I can find nothing in IA13 that prevents such an alliance.

Hey Bosco, check out p150 "a Renegades and Heretics army is considered identical to a standard Chaos Space Marine army". So you can't ally with guard unless applying the 'come the apocalypse' rule. Guard are no where near as good in my opinion anyway. Yes I have looked at the mutant overlord, I'd like to build an assault army around him as he's realistically the only dangerous demagogue in CC.

I'm not talking about tournament games, but rather friendly games. IG-based armies are never officially recognized as chaos-themed, renegade armies. Most opponents will recognize that you are using Renegades that ally regularly with CSM and Daemons. Should be treated as Battle Brothers under most circumstances.

At any rate it's update time, sliding a little into the daemons at the moment. Also bought an air brush so starting to get really pro.

I've just begun airbrushing myself for a little over a month now. Mainly base-painting models with it, but it is such an improvement and quicker.
