I always seem to get questions when I'm at work and away from my codex. Is there anything stopping me from taking a Royal Court if I *DON'T* take an Overlord?
Like let's say I take a Destroyer Lord as my HQ and have one open HQ slot. Would the Royal Court simply take that slot or is the Overlord a necessary part of taking it? I am assuming that the Overlord (or Overlord named characters) unlock the Royal Court.

You're allowed to take one Royal Court per Overlord (or Overlord SC).
So Destroyer Lords and characters like Orikan the Diviner, Illuminor Szeras or Vargard Obyron don't unlock Royal Courts.Armies Played (in order of acquisition)

Right, "unlock" was what I wasn't sure about or not. I figured it would be like taking a Command Squad or an Honor Guard. I was just hoping that wasn't the case since it would give the ability to take a single Lord or Cryptek under a Battle Mission restriction (i.e. can't take a Named Character or an HQ with more than 2 wounds).
