Seems to be like a non-lethal version of a 40k bolt round. (Possibly withou the rocket propulsion.)

The aa-12 is as close to a real-life Bolter as I imagine anyone would want to get. Horrible, horrifying weapon.

The idea of guns that shoot rockets is an old one as well; the Gyrojet guns from the 1960's did that.

We could make a bolter quite easily with today's technology, it's just not a very practical weapon at the moment, bullets tend to work fine. As Malton said, the AA-12 is pretty close as it is when loaded with explosive rounds, just less propulsion and more explosion.
