    Default Dead's Combined 40k

Well I guess I took Kirsten's idea of one combined 40k thread that I can update with what ever is on the table at the time.

I too like many of us have a severe hobby buterflyitus and don't generally stick to one army for very long. Orks and Chaos are my flavour of the month at the moment but just recently I completed these guys.
They are GK Paladins, with a little twist. I saw back along a picture of a grey knight from waaaayyyyy back and his armour was dark grey / black and I thought was Paladins in this colour scheme could look good. They were very easy to paint and no weathering here at all (I know). I went with edge highlights on the armour and the weapons were airbrushed, the gold is Vallejo liquid metals "green gold" which is just fantastic and i use the whole range for my metallics.
They do kind of look black legionish I think now, but I still like how they turned out.

I also tried a larger drill bit on the weapons, 1.5mm i think it was, I think it looks better than the smaller usual barrel hole

    Those blades look epic.
Obviously you only need the two greyknights to kill everything...

Nice work there Tedlift(cool avatar by the way)

Here is a picture of my recently finished Salamanders Librarian, slightly converted from the spacehulk model. I removed the storm bolter and replaced it with a storm shield and decided I would paint the armour green and not the traditional blue. I think for me the force weapon on this model is the bit I enjoy the most. Both the the green of the armour and the force weapon were painted using my airbrush.

Very nice, and as always your weapons painting stands out...

So is the axe a dark blue light blue then white with the air brush?

Thank you, pretty much as you say on the axe head, except for the white line in the middle of the blade on either side. That was painted by hand. I tried to get a glow effect around the gold embellishment and used various very thinned, glazes of white using regular white paint and distilled water.
