Default Warhammer 40k Compatible Templates (Destroyed Vehicles)

We've been trying out a selection of Warhammer 40k compatible templates designed to represent destroyed vehicles in games of 40k.

We can definitely see a use for these in some of our games, and like that you can choose from a vast range of colours to match your army. Is anyone else already using these in place of normal craters?

For about 20 $ you can also have one made of resin...

Thanks for the link Marneus, hadn't seen that before. Would get pretty expensive and would require a lot of space if you had a piece like that for all your vehicles though!

This is like one of the modelling projects that I've been trying to do for ages.
It's a rhino/chimera shaped crater, whose edges are about knee high to a SM

Although I would really like to have specific 'vehicle destroyed' counters, these just don't work for me. I would rather have some 3D pieces (where you still see parts of the Rhino, Battlewagon, Dreadnought, etc...) instead of flashy orange/green pieces. I want the destroyed vehicles blend in with the other scenery (crater like + brown/grey/black colour) instead of stand out like a flaming beacon.

(edit: there seem to be a lot of colours available... this makes it a bit more to my liking )

The idea of the "Skull Quick Measure" thing is great and I really like those specific wound counters (Orks ) and Missile counters. Nice, thanks for sharing

Not really no. Local area just leaves the model on it's side.

The you're doing it wrong. Exploded vehicles are removed and replaced with a crater the size of the tank. Wrecks stay on the board.

The top two on this page are also exactly the same size as a Rhino:
