Default Monsters - A question about the big guys.

So I was playing at the local gaming club I run the other day and I had for the first time a heated debate about monsters.

Ever since I started playing a couple of years ago, everyone who I have played with and against has told me that Monsters have Swiftstride due to their size.

However the debate the other day was that they do not?

Has anyone else encountered this scenario? Could anyone provide some clarity?

    Thanks

There's nothing in the rulebook to indicate that monsters have Swiftstride. Monstrous cavalry do, and monstrous beasts. But that's because they're cavalry and beasts, not because they're monsters.

Monsters are an entirely separate unit type, and not one that has Swiftstride listed anywhere.

Some monsters do have it, but it's an additional special rule.

I agree entirely with the above. The Monster unit type does not confer the swiftstride rule, so unless it is mentioned in that monster unit entry in the army book, they do not have swiftstride.
