I'm actually going back and playing first edition with them, the ones with SM shoulder pads are my version of exo armour. According to the old white dwarf rules squats could use bolt guns for 3.5 pts per squad. Also I dont buy into the nids eating them lore. Squats were some of the very first figures that I painted when I was 9 years old LOL. I guess I could work on using them as a guard army in 6th edition. I have plans to do some tanks and other stuff. Guess I kind of miss some of the creativity of 1st edition, even though the rules were a mess.

If you ever feel the urge and can get hold of the original Space Crusade Chaos Dreadnought you cna always attempt a Squat War Walker Like I did way back when:

Recently played against some Squats in a Throne of Skulls tournament, they were fun too:

    keep 'em coming.

When I went to a local grand tourney in my area, there was a player who did a counts as salamanders army, where they were squats. His drop pods looked like pods with big as hell drills on the top. It was pretty epic I have to say.

only thing I would change personally would be to leave the axe head where it was, but turn the haft upside down, then the material grip would be at the bottom and look more like shock absorbers
