My Own Tyranids - Tabletop Standard

So I FINALLY started dinking around with some color schemes in my spare time. This is for my own Tyranids army, but I may sell it soon as I have other priorities to tackle.

I'm currently focusing on a Forgeworld Angron as a commission project, but I squeezed in a few moments to work on this Ravener. This is my tabletop, or gaming standard.

I wanted something alien but organic. I haven't decided what to do with the base yet. I may go Mars rock as a contrast, or maybe something purple to draw from the fleshy bits between the exoskeleton. Tell me what you think!

I think a red-orange mars rock base would contrast very nicely with the colors on those 'nids. Also, gorgeous work!

That's a good point, EP. It's been a bit of a go-to. I have a Necrons army where I may do the opposite: bright, warm tones for the body with cool purples/blues on the base.

I like that idea (both for the nids and the necrons.) I really love the striped style you have gone with on the carapace. As always, the standard of your work is increadible, especially if this is only table top. I'd be fairly happy with that as a display piece!
