George Lucas has reportedly given the green light to appoint JJ Abrams, of Star Trek reboot fame, as the director of this new film. However, such a move makes it unlikely that he will be able to make a 3rd Star Trek film, with the 2nd one due out in May, with SW:VII optimistiically pinned for 2015.

I still can't work out how I feel about new films let alone JJ. I think I'm happy about. But the Star Trek 3 point is an excellent one.

I would much rather have a third star trek film than Abrams on Star Wars duty. it just adds another tier to the Star Wars vs Star Trek debate/controversy. I mean.... Star Trek must be better if they want the Star Trek director to do Star Wars too....... lol

I don't dislike massive explosions, but they need a plot too.

But Shalalalalaman would finish the last trilogy with either obiwan or Luke skywalker waking up from day dreaming in either episode IV or I...
