Default Project Nemesis - Converted assassin kill team

Taking a break from my imperator to do asomething at the opposite end of the scale, an assassin kill team.

Warhammer world are running a kill team event which is effectively Necromunda-lite where you pick 200 points from a reduced force org (0-2 Troops, 0-1 Elite/Fast Attack, No Heavy or HQ) and each model operates individually with 3 universal special rules from the book to distribute to specialists and your chosen leader getting upgrades between each game.

This gives me a giood reason to do the assassins from the nemesis heresy book. As 6 assassins aren't possible with 200 points I'm going to be using the grey knight henchmen squad with a few bits of support to fill the points.

Leader: Vindicare Assassin (counts as Jokaero) Specialist: Ignores Cover

The jokaero's lascannon with ignores cover is as close as I can get to a super powered sniper gun so I'm using that. BS3 is a bit lame for a sniper but could get upgraded and almost anything non-vehicle hot will die.

I converted this from a dire avenger, space marine scout and imperial sniper. His little vignette has him taking over a cultist guard post to shoot from.

Callidus assassin (counts as death cult assassin)

Obvious choice of death cult, aim is to stay hidden then jump the objective late game when there is less firepower about.

Converted from dark eldar models and baneblade commander power swords I found. The head popping scene was the first I came up with.

Eversor assassin (counts as death cult assassin)

I was goping to use an arco-flagellant as it fits better but with 6th the death cult is just better in almost every situation

Converted from dark eldar, dire avengers and FW renegade enforcer head. For the scene I wanted some personal violence so a disembowelled traitor was perfect the dark vengeance commissar model is cool so I had him with his hat restored running away in terror.

    Culexus assassin (counts as daemonhost)

The daemonhost rules are a little rubbish but it was the closest thing I could get to the culexus powers.

I kept the culexus head as I felt I couldn't do it any better but used a DE wych to keep the gender in line with the book. A liitle annoyed I didn't spot the similarity between the eversor posing and this one but I liked the idea of having her turn someone into dust.

Vanenum assassin ( counts as death cult assassin)

Another death cult (partly because you need some redundancy if you're going to attempt close combat but mostly because the poison effects were hard to represent).

The DE poisoner is a great model and an easy choice for the vanenum. I was getting bored of industrial scenes so added some plant life to this one. The dead guy is going to have some horrible face melting effect painted on to show the effects of the poison blades.

Vanus assassin ( counts as warrior w/melta & power armour) Specialist: Torrent

The vanus has some experimental weaponry. A melta with the torrent rule is hugely lethal. The power armour doesn't really fit but was just to fill out the points.

The cogitator gauntlet is going to be painted as a hologram. I kept the assassin torso as I had run out of dire avengers and the gun is from a necron sniper to make it look special (in line with its special rules). The vanus is described as using psyber eagles and eyerats in he book so I added these to the scene with a deployable sensor array. It's the only one without dead bodies as the Vanus doesn't like to get his hands dirty.

Sentry turrets ( count as servitors) Chimera Specialist: Shrouding & objective marker

Mindlock makes the servitors unreliable but a 10 point multimelta wielder was too good a deal to pass up. The chimera is a useful transport with good guns and filled out my points nicely. Shrouding should help it survive the inevitable tartet priority of any heavy weapons a bit and fits tjhe background as not every assassin is going to want to hoof it everywhere they go.

The servitors are simple sentry turrets built from a multi melta and any legs/antennae I could find that were the right size. The chimera is converted from a manticore chasis I already had with extra comms built in. In a background sense these would all be part of the vanus' bag of toys.

The objective is Creed with a head swap for the cultist leader. Renegade planetary governor Hannibal Kreed (or Ursakar Lecter) is the mission's primary target.

Here are all 6 assassins separated from their scenic bases:

Really nice looking squad there isotope! I think my favourite of the lot has to be the Vindicare.
Either there is life in the universe more intelligent than us, or we are the most intelligent form of life in the universe. Either way, it's a worrying thought!

Oops, that'll teach me to check the book for spelling first.

I'm going to be trying some OSL for these guys. Not an easy technique so I'm going to be doing the lighting first and working back. It may take slightly longer but should be easier to tell if the OSL is working.
