With that said, Tau have definitely changed into a more dynamic army to play with things like infantry and fusion blasters being promoted with long range death like Broadsides getting the shaft. New Tau have to walk a fine line between auto-lose through getting assaulted and crushing the enemy through clever tricks and smart positioning. This is only made possible, in my opinion, thanks to 6th edition's pre-measuring because a book that needs to dance between 12" and 18" so finely or get absolutely rolled would be far too punishing in previous editions.
