    Default Casting the Primarchs

I saw a fun thread on bolter and chainsword asking who would be the ideal actors to portray the primarchs in a Heresy era movie, and thought that the lounge would probably have some interesting opinions on the matter. So have at it, who would you have lead the legions of the emperor into battle on the silver screen? The only big restrictions that I can think of is that the primarchs all appeared to be young men at the time, scratching Connery and other distinguished gentlemen from the list of badass mofos elligeble for roles.

I-Lion El'Jonson (Dark Angels) Hugh Jackman
    III-Fulgrim (Emperor's Children) Orlando Bloom
IV-Perturabo (Iron Warriors) Michael Ironside *a bit old, but makeup and CGI could fix this*
V-Jaghatai Khan (White Scars) Tony Jaa
VI-Leman Russ (Space Wolves) Viggo Mortenson (with a killer beard)
VII-Rogal Dorn (Imperial Fists) Jason Statham
VIII-Konrad Curze/Night Haunter (Night Lords) Clive Owen
    IX-Sanguinius (Blood Angels) Jude Law
X-Ferrus Manus (Iron Hands) Vin Diesel
    XII-Angron (World Eaters) Bruce Willis
    XIII-Roboute Guilliman (Ultramarines) Brad Pitt
    XIV-Mortarion (Death Guard) Kevin Nash
XV-Magnus the Red (Thousand Sons) Udo Keir
XVI-Horus (Luna Wolves/Sons of Horus) Vinnie Jones
    XVII-Lorgar (Word Bearers) Willem Dafoe
    XVIII-Vulkan (Salamanders) Samuel L Jackson
    XIX-Corax (Raven Guard) Gerard Butler
XX-Alpharius Omegon (Alpha Legion) Johnny Depp

I know not all those are the best of all possible choices, but I think it would make a solid ensemble cast.

I must say that this caught me by surprise, but as i thought about it, the more he seemed to fit!

Also, I think I may have switched your choices for Sanguinius and Fulgrim. IMO Jude Law would probably do a better job with the "greater than thou" mentality, and we know that Bloom can do majestic pretty darned well (ref. LoTR)

I definitely thought about that and the more I consider it I think you are right.

Tbh I was thinking of Legolas when I chose him for that spot (some dude with long blonde hair).

    Horus - Rufus Sewell
Leman Russ - Brian Blessed (with some cgi to make him look younger)
    Alpharius - David Tennant

Perhaps River Pheonix and Heath Ledger as the missing primarchs?

    Yes I know, poor taste.

Liev Schreiber - Leman Russ of the Space Wolves (Sabretooth of the future)
Christian Bale - Konrad Kurze of the Night Lords (Batman in power armour)

I'm not entirely sure Vulkan even looks like the rest of the Salamanders, originally being from Terra and not from Nocturne, so until we have evidence to support his darkness, Samuel L. Jackson needs to sit on the sidelines.

Swap Brad Pitt for Timothy Oliphant and Samual L Jackson for Larry Fishburn.
To a New Yorker like you a hero is some kinda weird sandwich, not some nut who takes on three Tigers!

my vote's for Ron Pearlman for Dorn.
I reject your reality and replace it with my own.

I'd have Joaquin Phoenix for Horus and Ray Stevenson (Titus Pullo from Rome) as Angron.

    Mortarion's difficult. Maybe Edward Norton?

And I'm utterly stumped for Magnus the Red.

Other than that, I support most of the choices above...

I died little bit when I read that lol! Horus was supposed to be the brightest of all the primarchs and you suggested vinne jones XD I do admit that he kind of has a mild resemblance to the artwork of horus but I cant really handle the idea of vinne jones being the "greatest" of the primarchs. I would pick someone like Matt Damon for horus personally, or maybe harrison ford!

As for other primarchs heres a short list of what I thought was apropriate:

    Angron - Dolph Lundgren
    Lion El'Johnson - Christian Bale
Roboute Guilliman - Jean-Claude Van Damme!
