And roughly half the reported cases are male. Those same statistics say that if you're a serving US soldier, you have a higher chance of being raped by your fellow soldiers than dying in combat. Not to mention, the Pentagon says this, not 'whiny liberal media'! So if those are the Pentagon's own stats, you know the actual number is going to be WAAAAAAAAAAAY higher.

Reminds me of the advert for the Pulled Chicken Burger by KFC. A guy's brother gets on the bus every day with a girl for several months, and always rides farther than he needs to until she gets off, then he walks back home from that stop. It's months before he even speaks to her. Then happy ending, they get together.

Rape, no your right there, but run your A$$ through the grinder? Oh boy, YES! They (male and female drills) are a special breed of physical threat. On one level you know that they aren't to smack you, but the good ones can make you 'feel' like they are right there, at the point of just kicking the living snot out of you. And here you have signed up for it! Plus it's not the threat from the Drill that is the threat at times, but response of your fellow squad and platoon mates. By 'slacking' your not only making yourself look bad, but the rest of the squad/platoon/company, do that enough and things have a way of 'fixing' attitude problems. Why the soap party scene in "Full Metal Jacket" is extreme, things like that do happen.
