An anecdote isn't a datum, because an anecdote isn't empirically measured and carries too much bias to be reliable. It's also prey to the fallibility of human memory upon recital.

Especially when, in experiments, people have recounted stories of being lost in the mall after discussing it with family members, until the family members tell them it never actually happened. The human brain can only store so much, so it does a lot of filling in the blanks based entirely off its own worldview of how that situation should have went.

This is why I tend to dislike survey-oriented evidence, because the people know they're being asked to fill out a survey, and thus are always trying to think of the, "right answer." It's why males seem to always be having more sex than females in polls, as a few people are playing with the truth each way due to what they want to be right, rather than what is correct.

Sadly in matters of sociology, it's kinda hard to empirically measure most stuff without resorting to brute-force Big Data means.

I have on many an occassion decried the accuracy and validity of self-reporting surveys though not everyone accepts that they are inherently flawed and the arguments are tiresome and I really don't want to look over this again.

Any datum within a set is anecdote, but not all anecdote is datum.

It's an understandable reaction to Women Against Feminism to be honest. Most of them are just women who are either ignorant or brainwashed by their own internalised misogyny or simply do not know what feminism is and assume the ridiculous image of the straw feminist the media shoves down our throats is accurate. The old, bitter angry feminist who hates men and doesn't seem to want anyone to have any fun.

Then you have the fact that society punishes feminists, hence the constant death threats, rape threats and threats of violence and the disgusting rhetoric and the complete failure of many even otherwise intelligent men to be able to engage rationally with feminists. It is easier to label yourself as not a feminist and you immediately become Not Like The Other Girls, specifically the uppity girls who think they deserve equality. It's a survival mechanism, its the easy path and it is deliberately constructed as such. Make being a feminist more difficult and less popular and then tell girls their worth as humans comes from being popular and earning boys approval. Don't blame any woman for taking that option, but I don't respect it and it can't go unanswered.
It shouldn't be answered by ****ting all over the woman either, as hard as it is sometimes when you try and fight for equality only to have some woman undermine you.

That's one conclusion, but consider the thread and the points raised that as a female you're labelled a slut or prude by society, you can't win, there is as much chance of under reporting there.

I remember me and the first girl I'd slept with doing some cheesy online survey and there was about a 5% difference in what ever the result was (How kinky are you or some such nonsense) and it was entirely down to her forgetting some of our "odd" locations until prompted, so its not necessarily even deliberate deception, its just possible some people don't remember as much for whatever reason.

Actually it is not easy to get into a rationally discussion if your opinion is already devalued at start as your feminist discussion partner tells you that your opinions and facts are just a product of the patriach world and have no real value.

There have been studies down which show women actually have a greater sex drive than men, it's just repressed more. All of that being social and cultural. Nothing worse than being labelled a whore, it's contagious. Other girls don't want to associate with you because then people assume you're leading them astray, boys keep away from you expect the one who tihnk you are easy and then when you aren't they get angry. I've heard of school girls being removed from teams and clubs and having awards taken away just because some little **** started a rumour they had sex, in this country and America because you can't reward a slut, what kind of message does that send girls?
