Classic example of what Yorkie is on about..... The casting of X-Men.

I was highly impressed with the majority of the casting. Except for Storm.

I'm sorry, but whilst Halle Berry is a decent actress, she was no Storm. Meant to be tall, physically present, and with a cut glass English accent. All things Halle Berry lacks. So why cast her? Meh, black female actress, she'll do.

Seriously, contrast and compare to the other casting calls which pretty much nailed it. Wolverine, Professor X, even Cyclops (who was just enough of a.....reproductive organ). Storm? Meh.

On a related note, apparently there is a strong chance that Janet van Dyne aka The Wasp and founding Avenger will be dead in the MCU before she even appears on screen. Many, many fans pissed off. We talk about how much better Marvel is with representation than DC and this is true but then you remember what a low bar that is. 11% female creators on the comics, Marvel are sometimes lower, no female lead film, no Black Widow film, no mention of the female founding member of the Avengers six years into teh MCU, much more minor male characters getting their own film, one of the few canon lesbian female characters getting fridged in AoS to show how nasty a male character is etc.

Seriously, I think The Beano has better equality in it.

Off the top of my head?

Minnie The Minx, Ivy The Terrible, Toots from The Base Street Kids, Bea (Dennis' little sister). I think Beryl The Peril may be Beano now, but could be The Dandy.

Some small credit, Guardians of the Galaxy was co-written by Nicole Perlman while DC gets known misogynist turdstain Whatsisface to write the film with Wonder Woman in it... Though funnily enough the media is conspicuously ignoring Nicole Perlman and focusing on James Gunn...

Think I'm at least partially guilty on that last one.

Not interested in certain body types, but very much drawn to others.

Possible redemption? Dim girls are a massive turn off. Even if I suspect they're just acting dim.

Guardians looks awesome, I can't wait to see it! Maybe James Gunn is getting all the attention for directing the film? I really hope DC doesn't screw up Wonder Woman. She is "the" most iconic female superheroine out there.
