Besides the increased legal protection (and I know there are still serious enforcement issues, but serious enforcement issues is still an upgrade from the law not even being on your side), "all consent, all the time" as a legal regime really just strikes me as an extension of the principle that grown-ups talk about things. In pretty much all arenas of a relationship, "we shouldn't have to talk about this" is a child's philosophy. That's true whether it's sex, making weekend plans without including your SO, or figuring out whether somebody likes you. Children think mind-reading is the romantic ideal. Adults should know better.

It doesn't say he paid her though, just that he agreed to pay her. This is why we need better protection for sex workers in the form of regulation, not making it illegal to hire prostitutes and forcing them to retreat further from safe areas to earn a living.

It's also worth noting that Escorts, in order to operate more or less legally, you're paying for their time and presence. What else happens there is open to discussion and negotiation.

Even if you have paid someone for a bit of the other, if they decide against it, it's still rape. If you pay and go beyond the agreed transaction, it's still rape.
