Seriously. I mean I get the upset causes by the snog. It was sacrilegious. But he was, you know, most likely of a darker hue.
The bible never actually mentions his skin colour, or really gives any physical descriptions of him come to that. Why? Because it doesn't *#%^ing matter! What matters is who he is and what he does, not what he looks like or what his sexual preference is (again no mention of any relationships). That's his whole point, it's why he's happy hanging out with women, tax collectors, Romans and other 'undesirables'.

Shh! Don't tell the Bible Belt!

Next thing they'll find out he was essentially socialist in action, and then they'll all go insane. Well. More insane.

Just a quibble. There is some evidence that other gospels do indeed discuss his relationships.

The thing to remember is that its a book thats been given a minimum of 2 major revisions. First at nicea ans then when tthey translated it into english. And countless smaller ones.

Not to mention the Gospels which are known, but kept under lock and key by the Vatican. Including Judas, and Mary Magdelene.....

In fact, the Bible contains a minority of the Gospels I believe?

Im always skeptical of the earth shattering revelation gospels like judas and magsalene actually existing (the jesus one too)they always seem to urban myth. but yes there are a large number of gospels that were diacarded by nicea. And some of them have reportedely been rediacovered I the last couple of decades.

At the end of the day the real message should always be "dont be a dick"

Judas one is on the level.

And yeah. Bill and Ted summed it up beautifully. Be Excellent To Each Other.

Well it depends. THe gospels are authentic in the sense that they are original early-ish Christian manuscripts (the possible Magdalene gospel dates to the 5th century) and such a later date isn't as ridiculous as it might seem when you remember how knowledge was transmitted via copied manuscripts. Whether it was literally the gospel of Mary Magdalene is another issue and how old it really is too. Also gospel means different things at different times. But it certainly shows that early Christian belief was a lot more diverse than it was even a few centuries later.

This is something tht really bugs me about people who start talking about bias and feminist agendas and he like. You can have two thousand years of history written by men about men and no one questions it, but the moment a woman starts questioning it she is the one that gets accused of bias and having agendas which somehow weaken her case. Its' insane.

Just had a wee nose on the Guardians of the Galaxy Wiki, wanting to see how it's opening weekend went.

Well, is the short answer. Very very well is the accurate answer.

    Then, I spotted this.....

You paying attention DC? 44% of the people who went to see a shiny new Superhero movie were devoid of gonads. 44%.... And that's for a not-particularly-aimed-at-girls film. Sure, some of those could be put down to date movie things. But 44%. That's damned impressive. It's 44%. Or, to put it into terms monetary? Ladies spent £41,360,000 seeing this film.... That's the budget of many films made back right there. Perhaps not a blockbuster budget to be sure, but point stands. Now, imagine what would happen if for instance you had a well known female character. Perhaps some kind of Wonderful Woman Superhero, who could have her own film. What sort of returns could you get on that?

Wiki does offer a further breakdown, but sadly not for the ladies, just the blokes. But I'd imagine the female breakdown is out there should someone wish to seek. I don't have the foggiest of where to start!

Yup and it was similar with Avengers. That's 44% wimmins without any effort to really acknowledge women are a big part of the demgraphic.
