Yeah, tell me again how misogyny “isn’t real” and men and boys actually “love”, “like” and “respect the female sex”? This is how deep misogynistic propaganda runs in this world. Men and boys are so viscerally contemptuous of anything or anyone who/that is female or feminine, or perceived to be female or feminine, that they would rather commit suicide than to be associated with— or become a member of— the female sex. As Germaine Greer said, “women have no idea how much men hate them.”

Well, just found a lovely posting on Facebook.

Apparent, the hijab is not Feminist. Because reasons.

And that coming from a guy, who clearly must be a feminist, because he's able to define what is and isn't.

Me, as long as it's the woman's choice to wear the hijab, niqab, or simply a strategically placed figleaf or three, how is that not a feminist outfit?

Or is it only feminist as long as it chimes with your other forms of bigtory?

To be fair it's a problem a lot of women 'feminists' have too. Feminism isn't feminism if you only support equality and freedom of choice for women like you. It's one of the few real criticisms of mainstream feminism (as opposed to fake ones like misandry and thinking of women as victims and so forth).

They must have been really young cause I'm pretty sure from most people from what I recall being a teenager, probably of both sexes would have said "I won't be going out for at least a couple of days..."

Yup. I just don't get it.

Sure, if you know, for a fact, that the woman has been forced to wear any given garment by more than general soceital expectations, raise a fuss. But to pretend it's a choice uniformaly foisted upon unwilling women is just bigotry masquerading as social concern.

Has it ever occured to these people that Muslim women might just be more than happy to wear the full shebang, because they hold their religion dear?
