Just a shame they could have made a clean sweep of it.

I still think it's going to be a terribad movie like. The writer's previous doesn't fill me with hope either.

why dude? is hiring someone based on their talent (or the application based on skill anyway) not their gender somehow wrong these days?

I'll agree I'm in no way excited for the movie, but I havent enjoyed anything out of DC since before Dark Knight Rises

Well WW is something of an icon. Pretty well known character in the public conscience, and certainly of massive interest to young girls.

I just don't think a bloke could get in the same mindset as a female writer, due to lack of shared experiences. If that makes sense.

Who knows, dude might knock it out of the park - but a female writer just seems to fit (which in it's own way is a dodgy statement I know )

    Second attempt at rationale!

Female writer is more likely to focus on what a woman would consider heroic and positive in a female superhero, and it's likely to be stuff that a male writer wouldn't necessarily pick up on, or even consider.

I'm not saying he's just gonna focus on the physical attributes of WW, and indeed I hope most sincerely he doesn't, but he does run the risk of making her a sort of caricature of a strong woman.

Inb4 scene where she pushes a bunch of men out of the way to stop a villain, loudly exclaiming, "STEP ASIDE, FOR I AM A STRONG, INDEPENDENT WOMAN WHO NEEDS NO MAN!"

Then she gets erratically angry at things and keeps reminding people that SHE IS A WOMAN IN A MAN'S WORLD.

    Sounds like a possibility

Also, Nigel Farage has flapped his gums again, suggesting women should breast feed discreetly, to save the embarassment of others.

    Retraction/spin expected in 3, 2, 1..........

And ladies - whilst being discreet about your frankly disgusting and unnatural practice of feeding your young, DON'T FORGET TO COVER YOUR ANKLES.

What a load of junk, its sexist and quite frankly insulting. Men can write about women just as well as women can write about men

yeah, I think if people are embarrassed when they go out by things like breast feeding, then they need to stay at home.
