I really considered the bond movie prostitute kill off to be a subversion of the "women in fridges" trope honestly. Like, Bond isn't angsty about her death, it was a foregone conclusion. If anything it showcases his sociopathy more than affording him a motivation. Yes she was a female character that existed only to be killed in the narrative of a male protagonist, and that certainly has sexist connotations, but I felt the dynamic between the two characters had enough subtext to be interesting and stand on its own merits, rather than being a cliched example of an overused trope.

Maybe I added more meaning to the interplay than was evident however. To each their own I guess.

I'd also like to point out the the character in question was by no stretch of the imagination the "female lead." She was a very minor side character and hadn't really been built up at all other than the inference that she was a sex slave and that Bond seduced her to get an in to his target.

EDIT: Not by all mind you, but there are some fair hard core personalities in here that just shut their eyes to any potential motivation that isnt misogyny. because the world is full of two kinds of people....or something like that

It's entirely possible she is a character, Rebels has already established that the Empire started recruiting women as Stormtroopers, even if we haven't seen any on screen yet (that we know of).

That's both hilarious and terrible. Kind of sums up the BBC though, it's basically Gritty Problematic White Male Genius/Supowered (Stubble Optional) Does The Things Broadcasting Corporation. At least some of the shows have decent representation in other areas. Used to be 'merican TV was considered inferior to British but the opposite is now true.
