it is very difficult I think for people to accept what a serious problem sexual assault is. figures in Britain and the US put it at anything between one in six and one in four women. continuing the facebook debate somebody said to me 'that can't be right, that would mean on average 119,000 rapes in Britain every year.' yes. yes it does. there will be an estimated 85,000 rapes in England and Wales this year according to rape crisis UK.

Helps for people to understand what a sexual assault is.

Whilst yes, it is indeed pinning the woman down and forcibly groping, but it's also 'accidentally' brushing their breast whilst reaching for something, giving them a 'cheeky' slap on the arse.

Can I see why some might balk at calling the latter two sexual assault? Yeah I guess I can. Does that mean they're lesser? Nope, not in the least.

certainly true, though the 85,000 figure is specifically rape, not sexual assaults. that figure will be far far higher.

Somehow I suspect that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Just look at the Jimmy Saville debacle. Many reports made at the time, none properly logged by the powers that be.

Anyone who feels 'yes but that was then' is frankly fooling themselves.

yup, one of the Operation Yewtree defendants, I forget which one, a DJ, said that groping a woman's arse was different back then. only different for the man, the women still hated it.

The Lynx ad is crass, it is over the top and unnecessary, but it is also pretty straightforward. here are some hot women, here are some boobs, buy our deodorant. Ax on the other hand are saying, here are some hot women. don't be friendly to hot women, be a man and **** them. that is incredibly sinister, especially when society is facing a sexual assault pandemic.

Seems like sensible attire for rugby, not much clothing to grab onto, makes it harder to be tackled. Oiling up doubly so.
