Cruddace, eh? That's a surprise. Mildly disappointing - I was hoping for Vetock - but definitely happier than a much darker option who shall remain nameless. Still, 6th Ed's been a tide that's risen nearly all boats, book-wise, so I've high hopes.

Well we have a 33% chance of a good book, and the techmarine is going to still be pants.

I prefer Ward for rules. I prefer his codexes over Cruddace's every single time. I did like Vetock's Tau, but his DA just seems like it came and went and nobody cared.

All the codices are written as team efforts. The "author" is the project lead and lead writer.

Ward came up with Battle Focus, but Eldar has Phil Kelly and Adam Troke's names on the cover. And so on, and so on.

There are only a couple of new units for Cruddace to really play around with, most the Marine armory is fairly well set be precedent- unlike a lot of codices, Marine units tend to see incremental changes rather than major shifts.

Most the prices I am fine with, but why are the Sternguard and Vanguard not $33 like the other 5 model boxes like GK or Death Company. And $30 for clampack plastics? The Farseer was $20, and the 4 captains in finecast were only $22.50. Why the huge jump?
