Default Legion Veteran Squad and the sniper rule.

So a few weeks ago I emailed Forge World with my very first rules question enquiry. Today I got my reply.
It was concerning the Legion Veteran Squad and their use of the sniper usr.

    The Faq V1.1 states that
" All of the shooting attacks made by these units gain the ability to inflict Precision Shots.....all of the model’s shooting attacks never need greater than a 4+ to wound their targets...."

However, this did not cover the rending element of the sniper rule and I liked the idea of these guys having precision rending shots So I emailed and this is the response.

    "Hi,
Thank you for your email and please accept our apologies for the delay in replying to it. The Rending ability only come into effect if the model with the sniper rule is armed with a sniper weapon, i.e Sniper Rifle. As Veteran Tactical Marines are armed with bolters, they don't get the rending part of the rule.

If there is anything further we can do to assist you, or if you have any queries about the information we have requested or provided, please telephone us.

    Regards,
    Forge World"

So my Veterans will have precision shots, just not rending. Fair enough.

I was just impressed that they got back to me over such a little thing.
    Cheers Forge World

I shall not be so hesitant to ask for clarification in the future.

Good, make them regret ever responding to your e-mail!

'Hey forgeworld, should I be measuring from the base of the model or the gun?'
'How many sides should be on my dice?'

I'm pretty sure I'll only email them with legitimate questions.
