On topic, nice to see what appear to be non-sexualized females in the advertising material, especially since there were like no female characters in all of the X-Box presentation.

During a demonstration of video game "Killer Instinct" yesterday a male video game producer was matched against a woman - who struggled to play the game.
First he told her that she "played like a girl", perpetuating the stereotype that girls aren't "proper" gamers.
"I can't even block correctly and you're too fast," she replied.
"Here we go, just let it happen. It'll be over soon," he said.

Never played one, usually been an Xbox household. That might change, we'll either get no consoles or PS4s by the sound of it.

Bah, I'd heard about the fact the woman seemed to be having trouble with the game, hadn't heard about the rape joke, for god's sake. I did read, and I think it was speculation, that the chap had experience playing the game while the woman had not, so well done MS for rigging things to reinforce stereotypes.

I particularly love the offline multiplayer - strange I know - as the AI is so much fun to play against in all the rapidly changing objective-based matches. The original was an awesome split screen game. I like that Killzone feels very distinct from other shooters, and the story is above average. Killzone 2 in particular had a fantastic story and though the final boss battle was annoying more than anything else, the actual last encounter was brilliantly done.

yeah I think killzone is the best shooter series out there, with Spec Ops, Crysis and Farcry very close in, then Vanquish, then bad company and army of two...

I would definitely recommend trying out Killzone 2 and 3 if you get the chance. they are quite distinct to other shooters available, the controls are slighty slower and slightly more complex, which moves the game away from CoD twitchy finger run and gun, and combined with the setting and atmosphere it feels a lot more frantic and gritty, surprisingly realistic for a sci fi shooter. good characters, places, and story, great guns
