I came across a post by ADB that really changed my perspective on the Despoiler. It does a lot of justice for everyones favourite armless Warmaster, describing his motivations and accomplishments both inside and out of the eye of terror. In many ways he is a cannier candidate to rule the galaxy than Horus or the other primarchs.
